Award “Supporter of the Georgian Language”

At Caucasus University (Tbilisi), April 15, I was presented with an award for my contributions to the study of the Georgian language on the occasion of the Day of the Georgian Language.  The prize was awarded by Kakhaber Shengelia, Rector of Caucasus University, . I’m most grateful for this recognition of my work. My special thanks to Professor Mariam Manjgaladze, who was the initiator and organizer of the impressive event on the occasion of the Day of the Georgian Language. The prize itself is a beautiful bronze tree with leaves of Georgian letters (see below).

The “Supporter of the Georgian Language” award, established by Caucasus University, was bestowed upon Professor Karina Vamling from Malmö University in Sweden for her efforts to promote Georgian language and culture. Professor Vamling graciously shared insights into her research and projects spanning several years and expressed gratitude for the award.
