My warmest congratulations to Academician Mzekala Shanidze on her 100th anniversary! დიდი პატივისცემით ვულოცავ აკადემიკოს ქალბატონ მზექალას იუბილეს!

It has been such a privilege and inspiration to meet her and to listen to her at different conferences in Tbilisi, for instance in 2017 and 2019, and to chair a session in 2023 in which she participated.

Interestingly, I also attended the 100th anniversary conference at Tbilisi State University in 1987 for Mzekala Shanidze’s father, the prominent linguist Akaki Shanidze, and had the opportunity to listen to him as well.
