The distinguished and well-known Georgian linguist, Academician Tamaz Gamkrelidze, is no longer with us, he passed away on February 10, 2021, at the age of 91.

Prof. Gamkrelidze’s fundamental work will continue to inspire many generations of linguists. Among his many publications the two-volume work “Indo-European and Indo-Europeans” (1984) is probably the most well-known.
