Thank you to the Circassian Cultural Centre for organizing this unique forum for specialists in Caucasian Studies, with a special focus on Circassian topics. Director Prof. Merab Chukhua together with researchers Larisa Tuptsokova, Mariam Bezhitashvili and other co-workers at the CCC achieved an impressing event, that took place in an engaging athmospere.

My contribution to the conference, together with Dr. Märta-Lisa Magnusson (to the left, below), was a joint presentation of our co-edited book We witnessed the break-up – Six researchers on the final years of the USSR seen from the Caucasus (in Swedish and Danish). I presented one of my two chapters, where I wrote about my fieldtrip to Majkop in 1988.
