March 21 is an exciting day: The award ceremony of the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities takes place at The House of Nobility https://www.riddarhuset.se/360/riddarhuset.html at 16.30. Live stream below.
I’m very honoured and proud to receive the Rettig Prize 2022. The prize is awarded every year “as an encouragement or award to a prominent or promising scholar within the fields of the Academy”. (https://www.vitterhetsakademien.se/priser/rettigska-priset.html).
The Rettig prize was awarded for the first time in 1956 and is based on the private donation to the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities by the historian Herbert Rettig and his wife Ing-Mari to establish the Rettig Cultural Foundation. The Rettig donation to the Academy in 1962 also included the small palace that now houses the Academy on Villagatan 3 in Stockholm.
